Audio Spectro

Chris Scates, better known as Audio Spectro, began his music career DJing in Houston, Texas at various gigs and clubs throughout the 1990s alternating from House to Techno one night and 80s dance the next.

After joining the Army, Chris traded in his turntables and mixers for synthesizers, keyboards and a computer. He spent the early 2000s experimenting and learning about sound engineering and music production. While living in Germany, Chris ghost wrote several tracks for vocalists.

It was not until 2013 that Chris began writing music and recording tracks for himself, and then Audio Spectro was born. In 2014, Audio Spectro signed with Nub Country Records out of London, UK, releasing Electroverse (EP-2015), Each Passing Second (Single-2016), and An Epic World (LP-2018) distributed by Warner Music UK. Audio Spectro also signed with Refrained Music out of London, UK to release a Synthwave EP, Stella Somnia (2018).

However most of Audio Spectro’s releases are with longtime friend and DeepDownDirty Records owner, Maya Stone out of Surrey, UK. Releases included several singles with remixes, Universe (EP-2018) and Submit (EP-2020), as well as several releases through DeepDownDirty Records Techno, Acid, and House compilations.

Currently, Audio Spectro is working on projects with Kellerbeats (Germany) and VK Underground out of Madrid, Spain.
